The Mission of the Ridgewood Youth Roller Hockey Association is to provide a safe environment in which hockey players of all ages can grow and develop. Through disciplined practices and healthy competition, we not only aim to encourage the physical development and skill acquisition necessary for the game of hockey, but also instill the mindset of dedication to team, motivation for improvement, and respect for others. We believe this is necessary in the game of life. We offer this program to all boys and girls who want to approach hockey as a means to be healthy, proud, and create winning relationships on and off the rink.
Strong character and teamwork are vital fundamentals that are being taught by our experienced coaches every week. In addition, our under 3rd grade program has doubled in size and has become an instrumental step towards the next level of our program. This success is evident as the NJ Devils and NHL Street are willing to sponsor a sneaker program in the offseason to encourage and promote the development of fundamental hockey skills. Anyone from Kindergarten to High School, regardless of your experience level, is welcome to partake in this exciting opportunity! This is a chance for your child to build character and leadership skills while enjoying a fun, fast and active sport that gets kids interacting with other kids! Research has shown that a sport such as hockey can assist in developing focus and concentration for those students who can be challenged in these areas at school. Ask us about this!
